You’ll be based in either Broome or Kununurra, with regular travel across the Kimberley region—both locations offering unique lifestyle experiences and a strong sense of community.

What you’ll be doing?
The Chief Executive Officer leads Boab Health with strategic and values-driven oversight, managing day-to-day operations while delivering on the organisation’s mission and strategic priorities set by the Board. The role is responsible for driving innovation, fostering partnerships, leading change, and ensuring culturally responsive service delivery across the Kimberley. As a visible and collaborative leader, the CEO nurtures a positive, inclusive organisational culture that supports staff wellbeing, team performance and community impact.
This position works with a strong Leadership Team consisting of an Executive Manager of Clinical Services and Executive Manager of Operations, Business Development Manager, and two Regional Managers, one based in Broome and the other in Kununurra.
What we’re looking for?
Your unique strengths and experiences are what we value most. We are searching for individuals who can meet most of the following:
- Proven success in a senior executive leadership role, ideally with demonstrable relevance to the health or not-for-profit sectors.
- Demonstrated capability in business development and leading people through complex change.
- High proficiency in building and sustaining strong relationships with stakeholders and community.
- Demonstrable experience in corporate and financial management, including oversight of contracts, budgets and operational performance.
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, including management of staff across multiple locations.
- Capability to provide and execute a high level of corporate governance, compliance, risk management and quality assurance frameworks relevant to a not-for-profit health organisation
- Tertiary qualifications in health, business, management or a related field, and/or extensive experience in senior management roles within the primary health care sector (desirable).
- Sound understanding of primary health care models and the social determinants of health (desirable).
- Understanding and appreciation of life and business contexts in regional, remote and isolated communities (desirable).
Successful applicants will also need a satisfactory national police check, Australian working rights, a current C-class driver’s licence, and a willingness to travel regularly, including by light aircraft, watercraft and 4WD.

CEO total remuneration package up to $250,000 per annum, including:
- Salary commensurate to candidate calibre
- Extensive salary packaging benefits (up to $30,000 per annum)

- District allowance of $5,200 per annum
- Access to a fleet vehicle, upon availability
- 6 weeks annual leave, plus additional wellness leave and benefits
- Up to $4,000 professional development budget and additional supported leave
- Relocation assistance up to $15,000, plus temporary housing is available for a limited time to support your move to the Kimberley.
