The Hurstbridge Farm is a Therapeutic Residential Care (TRC) facility run by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing for young people typically aged between 10-17 years, who have suffered complex developmental trauma, significant abuse, neglect or disrupted attachment.
This is a wonderful opportunity to work within the well-known Take Two team in an integral clinical role in which you will conduct therapeutic assessments and complete Individual Therapeutic Intervention Plans (ITTP’s) in collaboration with clients and care teams. You will also undertake training and coaching of residential staff in their therapeutic practices based on structured training modules and client ITTP’s.
This exciting and diverse role will require you to provide direct short-term therapeutic work with clients (and families/carers as per case plans) with clear short-term goals and desired outcomes, with a focus on client functioning within the TRC facility.
You will work in a systemic and collaborative manner with young people, their family’s and the care teams to achieve the life changing goals and outcomes whilst playing an important part in building and maintaining partnerships both internally and externally.
We are seeking an experienced clinician who enjoys working within a multi-disciplinary team and are passionate about seeing young people and families reach their goals. A sound understanding of trauma and the impacts on attachment and developmental milestones for young people is essential.
You will hold a Bachelor degree level or higher qualification in a Health or Welfare related field such as Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Family Therapy, Speech Pathology, Art Therapy or related discipline, along with significant experience conducting clinical work with children. Experience in training and development will also be highly regarded.
You will have a sound understanding of the complexities of the service system, a demonstrated ability to provide direct service in the clinical assessment and treatment of young people and families, and a sound understanding and demonstrated ability to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families and community.
