We seek enthusiastic trainers and assessors to deliver short courses that integrate units of competency from Community Services qualifications (CHC22015 Certificate II in Community Services, CHC32015 Certificate III in Community Services, CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support, or CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care) and Foundation Skills qualifications. Each short course runs one day a week for 12 weeks, excluding school and public holidays. Courses are currently scheduled for Mondays and Fridays and preference will be given to candidates available on those days. We have an urgent need for a trainer to start June 14, 2019 in Lakemba. Other days and locations will be added.
The Trainer/Assessor will:
- Deliver short course units following Learning and Session Plans already developed
- Administer assessments using approved assessment tools
- Follow policies and procedures to the highest compliance standards
- Contribute to training resource development and improvement
- Ensure adequate student support
Key Selection Criteria:
- Must have or be in the process of upgrading to TAE40116 Cert IV in Training & Assessment
- Must hold the VET qualifications required for the course to be delivered (e.g. Certificate II or III Community Services, Certificate III in Individual Support or transition from earlier qualifications in Aged Care, Home and Community Care, or Disability OR Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care)
- Must have a minimum of 2 years relevant industry experience
- Current and relevant training and assessment experience, especially group training across a range of individual learning styles preferred
- Experience doing integrated FSK and VET unit training delivery and training and assessing FSK units of competency is preferred
- Valid Driver's License
- A valid current Police Check within the last 12 months
Key Performance Criteria:
- Excellent people and communication skills, including ability to work with disadvantaged students from non-English speaking and culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Ability to work both remotely and collaboratively with SCC's ACE CSO Program team, including Training Coordinator, RTO Manager, and staff of community organisation partners
- Full understanding of vocational education and compliance requirements (ASQA and the National Standards)
- Familiarity with the goals of the Smart and Skilled and ACE CSO Programs
- Ability to deliver high quality training results with minimal supervision
- Own vehicle and willingness to and willing to travel to training locations in Lakemba, Fairfield, Cabramatta, Strathfield, and the SCC campus in Rozelle
