About the job

The Reconnect Access Worker will support the Skills First Reconnect Programs. These programs aim to provide disengaged high needs learners with supports that will help reduce the barriers they face in participating and succeeding in training and the workforce. The Reconnect Access Worker position is critical in identifying participant eligibility, ensuring adequate participant intake to meet contract requirements and the subsequent effective management of client progress.

The Reconnect Access Worker is required to establish and maintain strong relationships with relevant agencies to facilitate the provision of a holistic and quality service and to provide information on issues including referral processes, client needs, local issues, community feedback and approaches or gaps in service delivery.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • A degree with subsequent relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or knowledge
  • A good understanding of the current Victorian education system with the ability to navigate individual education options for clients
  • Demonstrated understanding of the needs of marginalised and high needs clients who may be disengaged from education and community, and an understanding of barriers faced by this group
