The Sydney Women's Counselling Centre is a community based specialist counselling service that works within a Social Determinants of Health, and Trauma Informed Care framework providing counselling to women who are marginalised and socioeconomically disadvantaged. The services provided support the psychological and emotional well-being of women, while recognising the social, environmental, economic, physical and cultural factors which affect women's health.
All programs are holistic and address and assist clients in stabilising co existing presenting issues and with complex underlying trauma in long term counselling programs. The Centre has held continuous accreditation for 24 years.
The Centre is funded by NSW Health, and the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) and is a legally incorporated body under the Associations Incorporation Act, 1984. The Centre operates as a Registered Charity under the Charitable Collections Act. It is officially known as Southern Sydney Women’s Therapy Centre Inc.
The Centre is currently seeking a suitable applicant to fill this position who has good communication skills and can work collaboratively with the CEO and the SWCC Board.
