About the Department

The Medical Imaging Department within St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne is a large multi-disciplinary department that promotes high-quality health care. The radiography team work in a variety of modalities and participate in a 24-hour roster. There are 3 MRI units, 2 multi-slice CT, 5 Ultrasound machines, bi-plane angiography, digital mammography and fluoroscopy as well as 2 gamma cameras (including 16 slice diagnostic SPECT/CT) and a PET/CT centre. There is a separate co-located private practice (St. Vincent's Private Radiology) offering all diagnostic modalities to inpatients of St. Vincent's Private Hospital and Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital.

About the Role

The opportunity exists for qualified Radiographers to join the St Vincent's Hospital Medical Imaging team in a casual capacity. The intention of these roles are to fulfil vacancies within the Radiographer workforce as required and help to support the team through this health pandemic.

The successful applicants will provide general radiography imaging services to patients of St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne. You will be required to participate in shift and weekend work.

Classifications for these positions will range from Medical Imaging Technologist AF6 - AT6 ($70,943 - 93,860 per annum pro-rata).

Duties

  • Provide quality imaging examinations
  • Perform radiography and other imaging examinations correctly so as to produce maximum diagnostic information with minimum exposure rate
  • Present each completed examination for reporting with minimum delay and accurate recording of associated details
  • Ensure a level of patient care so that the patient's comfort, dignity and safety are maintained at all times
  • Comply with all aspects of radiation safety and infection control practices, as they pertain to Medical Imaging and the acute health care environment
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Registration with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • Current Victorian Radiation Licence
  • Proficient in general radiography
