Vinnies Mental Health Service offers low care supported accommodation service in shared living environments with support from a professional team of staff.

The Village is a 28 bed supported accommodation service that supports people with a lived experience of mental health challenges and who require support with day to day living. Vinnies Mental Health provides the opportunity for people to rebuild their lives through a recovery based, trauma informed program.

About the Role:

As the Coordinator - Consumer Resources, you are responsible for the day to day supervision of the Daily Life Skills and Onsite Support Worker staff team as well as overseeing the Coordination of service facilities.

This will include ensuring the Daily Life Skills Programme is run according to person centred principles through co-production and working alongside the Consumer Service Coordinator, to oversee the co-design of the Group/Events Programme.

This role sits alongside the Consumer Service Coordinator acting as a leadership team to support the Manager, Mental Health.

  • Full-time position - Monday to Friday, with On-Call Roster requirements
  • Position is located in Woodbridge, WA

About You:

To succeed in this position, you will have:

  • Experience working with people who experience mental health challenges and, who require day to day support
  • An understanding of practice philosophies in relation to Recovery, Trauma Informed, Person Centred concepts and the ability to integrate these into work with consumers, as well as support the development of staff
  • An understanding of the principles in relation to co-production and the ability to develop and grow this practice with staff, providing them with exceptional support and guidance
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field or extensive experience complemented by in-service training
  • The ability to multi-task and be able to prioritise competing needs according to service and consumer needs
  • Effective relationship and systems management skills, appreciating the full spectrum of resource coordination to consumers
  • Experience in reflective practice and the ability to provide supervision to other staff from different services (with training and support provided).
  • Strong awareness of personal and professional boundaries and the ability to manage these in relation to supervising staff and working with consumers
  • Sound organisational and planning skills, including time management and, problem solving capacity
  • Sound understanding the documentation requirements and the ability to keep develop and maintain systems, including documentation to evidence group work and projects
  • Knowledge of the National Standards for Mental Health Services
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Commitment to inclusive practice including Indigenous perspectives
