About the Role

As a Customer Engagement Officer, you'll be the friendly face of our Vinnies shop, creating a warm and welcoming experience for every customer and donor. Working closely with the Retail Centre Manager, employees and volunteers, you'll help create a safe, inclusive and positive environment while delivering exceptional customer service and providing information about donations and Vinnies services. You'll also get involved in the day-to-day buzz of the shop, helping keep everything running smoothly. From assisting customers at the registers and preparing stock for the shop floor to creating eye-catching displays and keeping the store looking its best, you'll play a hands-on role in delivering a great shopping experience for every customer.

You'll also play an important role in creating a safe and respectful shopping environment. Through proactive customer engagement, strong situational awareness and calm communication, you'll help prevent theft and support the team in managing challenging situations, while contributing to an exceptional customer experience and supporting the achievement of the shop's retail goals.

We have both part-time and full-time opportunities available, with shifts worked across weekdays.

About You

You're someone who genuinely enjoys working with people and takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service. You have hands-on experience in retail and customer-facing roles and are comfortable contributing to the day-to-day operations of a busy shop, including supporting retail activities and maintaining a well-presented store. You're confident building rapport with people, remain calm under pressure, and communicate with respect and professionalism. You exercise sound judgement in challenging situations, bring a positive, can-do attitude, and are passionate about creating a welcoming and inclusive experience for every customer. Experience in a security-related role will be highly regarded.

Successful applicants will be required to complete a National Police Check and hold or obtain, a Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Card and a First Aid Certificate upon commencement.
