The Role (Full time)

RACS Global Health partners with government, universities, and medical colleges & associations to strengthen specialist medical services in over sixteen countries across the Asia-Pacific. Visiting medical teams and in-country personnel provide clinical mentoring, education, and training to national doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals.

Reporting to the head of global health, this role will have responsibility for leading the implementation of RACS Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) agenda on global access to emergency and essential surgical care, influencing the research agenda by engaging with academic and research partners, participating in education programs, and responding to requests for information. Working with program managers and program stakeholders, this role manages internal program evaluations and external evaluation processes in line with in-country partners, donors and organisational guidelines.

The role will be offered on a full-time one year contract.

As the ideal candidate you will have:

  • Sound knowledge of contemporary practice and proven ability to lead teams and influence stakeholders in achieving goals
  • Extensive strategic, partnership and delivery experience in international health or development programs
  • Significant experience designing monitoring, evaluation and learning systems in an international development context
  • Ability to work with a broad range of program information to develop high level MEL frameworks and consistent systems for outcomes measurement
  • Ability to translate complex material and data into clear and concise policy and advocacy briefings and resources
