The Fundraising Campaign Officer is a key part of the Community Fundraising department within the SLSF Business Unit of SLSA and reports to the Donor Manager. The primary purpose of this 12-month contract role is to assist the SLSF and SLSWA donor teams in the development and delivery of fundraising campaigns across traditional and digital channels to achieve fundraising targets. This role will be responsible for supporting the development of fundraising campaigns and fundraising activities and communications. You will assist in the development and coordination of SLSF and SLSWA’s fundraising programs and donor communications and help adapt campaign materials for SLSF & SLSWA markets. Positively contribute to the overall strategy, objectives and requirements of the SLSF and SLSWA donor teams
Key Duties:
- Assist with the development, coordination and delivery of national integrated fundraising campaigns across key donor communication channels such as newsletters, websites, social media, digital marketing, brochures, direct mail, SMS and e-communications
- Development of donor content for SLSWA campaigns
- Adapt SLSF materials for the WA market
- Responsibility of drafting, building and scheduling of SLSWA e-communications including eDMs and digital newsletters
- Assist in the coordination of new fundraising initiatives
- Cultivate key relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Manage long term relationships with donors by coordinating donor journey communications for SLSWA
- Provide additional support of SLSF & SLSWA’s fundraising activities as required/requested.
- Ensure donors are provided a positive experience in all interactions with Surf Life Saving
Donor Engagement:
- A commitment to a donor centric approach in all SLS activities
- Handle enquiries to donors and other stakeholders in a timely, professional and friendly manner
- Adhere to the highest standards of ethical fundraising, ensuring compliance with regulations and guidelines. Demonstrate integrity in all communications with donors, promoting transparency and trust. Contribute to the development and implementation of effective stewardship strategies to recognise and appreciate donors. Ensure acknowledgment and recognition of their generous contributions
- Assist in the development and implementation of donor journey communications to engage donors as long-term supporters. Tailor messages to different donor segments, leveraging digital platforms and innovative approaches
- Accurately record and update donor information in the database, ensuring data integrity and confidentialityProduce and assist coordination to ensure maximum success of fundraising programs
Fundraising Campaigns:
- Identify and draft strong relevant written content that tells the stories of surf lifesavers in WA for various SLSWA donor communication and marketing channels (print and digital) and for various fundraising campaigns – including appeals, regular giving and supporter newsletters
- Assist with the development and coordination of direct marketing fundraising communications for SLSF & SLSWA donors – print and digital
- Build and schedule e-communications, including eDMs and e-newsletters for SLSWA donors
- Assist in adapting SLSF fundraising campaigns and collateral for the SLSWA market
- Assist in developing fundraising collateral and support material
- Help draft, develop and coordinate donor engagement and stewardship communications for SLSWA and assist with the development and coordination to ensure maximum success of fundraising events nationally
Fundraising Events:
- Coordinate communications for peer-to-peer and community fundraising programs
- Assist with event planning, promotion, marketing collateral development, coordination and post event analysis
Administration:
- Provide regular, detailed fundraising information, reporting and data to the Donor Manager and the SLSWA Fundraising Program Officer as required/and or requested
- Ensure reporting and analysis requirements for fundraising programs are accurate and on time
- Contribute to SLSWA administration and database functions when required, including gift entry, reporting, queries, information integrity, and data clean-up projects with the aim of providing current, consistent and accurate data
- Contribute to systems and procedures to increase efficiencies and improve processes within SLSWA fundraising and between SLSF and SLSWA
Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent relevant experience in the areas of fundraising and communications or marketing.
Knowledge and Experience
- Prior experience in drafting fundraising communications and preparing fundraising campaigns for digital and print channels, highly desirable
- Experience with marketing platforms, particularly email platforms
- CRM database experience
- Experience in developing customer/client and stakeholder relationships
- Experience working in the not-for-profit or charity sector
