Your Role

As the Transport Supervisor you will, coordinate an effective, responsive and safe transport support service and ensure the business achieves set KPIs for the transport operation.

Your Responsibility

  • Assist the Distribution Manager to organise operations of the transportation department, including managing drivers and Volunteers, scheduling routes, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and people.
  • Implement transportation policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure the safety and security of passengers, drivers, and goods, including implementing measures to prevent accidents, theft, and other incidents.
  •  Work with other departments within the organisation, including retail, vinnies and customer service, to coordinate transportation activities and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to transportation activities, including driver logs, vehicle maintenance records, and delivery receipts and record damage to society vehicles via the proper channels.
  • Train, and supervise transportation personnel, including drivers as needed.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, technological advances, and regulatory changes related to transportation and logistics.

You Will Need:

  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and supervise a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with drivers, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements, including DIFOT.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyse data and identify trends to improve transportation operations.
  • Proficiency in transportation management software, GPS tracking systems, and other relevant technology.
  • Experience working in a membership-based organisation to support and empower members and volunteers.
  • MR (Heavy Rigid)  Licence.
  • Forklift Licence.
