Your Role 

In this rewarding leadership role, you’ll be at the heart of two crisis accommodation services in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, guiding a dedicated team of support workers to deliver compassionate, trauma-informed care to women and families experiencing homelessness or domestic violence. Your days will be varied and meaningful, leading crisis responses and driving continuous service improvements. With the chance to build strong sector relationships, influence service strategy, and support clients' journeys toward stability, this role offers both purpose and impact. 

Your Responsibility

• Supervise, guide and support a team of support workers across two crisis accommodation sites
• Participate in the on-call weekend roster (approx once every 5 weeks)
• Coordinating client bookings and check-ins to ensure a smooth and supportive service experience.
• Approve and assist with payments and ensure accurate data entry and admin processes
• Ensure services are delivered in line with the Society’s Client Housing and Homelessness Service framework
• Promote a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment for clients
• Support staff to implement client case plans in collaboration with case workers
• Ensure support aligns with trauma-informed and culturally safe principles
• Lead continuous quality improvement activities and implement service-level strategies
• Maintain awareness of government policies impacting service delivery
• Build strong relationships with partner agencies and contribute to policy development
• Attend team meetings, training, supervision, and performance reviews

You Will Need:

• The St Vincent de Paul Society considers being a woman is a genuine occupational qualification for this position under section 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
• Cert IV or higher-level qualifications in Social Work, Social Science, Community Welfare or a related field
• Demonstrated experience in a supervisory or leadership role
• Experience in administrative, data management, and accountability processes
• Sound judgement and the ability to respond calmly and appropriately in crisis situations
• Strong communication skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution
• High-level interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds
• Commitment to ethical, reflective practice with both clients and staff
• Knowledge of WHS legislation and child protection responsibilities
• Ability to use Microsoft Office and client databases
• A valid NSW driver licence
