Your Role

  • NFP salary packaging tax-free benefits, boosting your take-home pay by up to $18k.
  • Part-time role 24 hours per week maximum-term contract until 30th June 2026
  • 3 x sleepover shifts (4 pm until 08 am) per week, including 1 weekend shift every other weekend.  

In this rewarding role, you will provide crucial support to women and children experiencing domestic violence/crisis. Working independently, you'll offer comprehensive on-site assistance, manage the intake and assessment of new clients, and ensure the refuge operates smoothly overnight.

Your Responsibility

  • Create a safe, welcoming environment for all families 
  • Collaborate with other team members and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support
  • Orient new families and manage room organisation after exits
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintain cleanliness
  • Implement client routines and support activities and programs
  • Maintain accurate records and uphold high-quality accommodation services.
  • Assist families in following guidelines and meeting their primary needs.
  • Work within a risk management framework to ensure safety and WH&S standards.
  • Provide trauma-informed, strength based, and person centred support.
  • Liaise with service staff to address client needs effectively and maintain professional client records.

You Will Need:

  • The ability to work the below shift pattern: WK1 Thu, Fri Sat 4 pm until 08 am WK2 Wed, Thu, Fri  4 pm until 08 am *sleepover shifts 
  • This role is a sole worker role therefore you must be confident working independently and making decisions autonomously 
  • Ability to work a rotating roster with a weekend sleepover shift every 2nd weekend
  • Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience, or ongoing tertiary study in a related field.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Skilled in using sound judgment during crisis and emergency situations.
  • Committed to maintaining an ethical & non-judgmental approach
  • Consistent demonstration of high-quality standards.
  • Proficient in using client databases and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Current NSW driver’s license & Valid first aid certification.
