  • SCHCADS Award hourly rates range from $37 to $40.05

Your Role

In this dynamic role, you will play a crucial part in supporting women and children affected by domestic violence, overseeing client intake and assessment, while also helping manage the daily operations of the refuge.  You will be joining a passionate, close-knit team that values inclusiveness, collaboration, and professional growth across diverse services and programs.

Your Responsibility

  • Provide a variety of supports to clients and work in cooperation with the case management division.
  • Maintain daily records and assist in all aspects of providing accommodation services.
  • Ensure that client support is consistent with the Client Service Delivery Model (CSDM), including demonstrating support consistent with trauma informed care practices.
  • Assist and/or supervise a variety of client activities such as groups and programmes.
  • Liaise with appropriate service staff to ensure client needs are attended to and providing accurate, up-to-date information and practical support to clients on a range of issues.
  • Advocate for clients on a need basis with external agencies
  • Transport of clients as required.

You Will Need

  • The St Vincent de Paul Society considers being a woman is a genuine occupational qualification for this position under section 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW)
  • Relevant certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Practical mindset, common sense, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven customer service and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with client databases, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and intermediate typing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Sound judgment, confidentiality, and crisis management skills.
  • Current first aid certificate.
  • Ethical and non-judgmental attitude towards residents and staff.
  • Knowledge of WHS legislation.
  • Current NSW driver’s license
