Your Role

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join the Matthew Talbot Clinic. This role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality nursing care to individuals facing homelessness, many of whom experience chronic illness, mental health conditions, and substance dependence. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in ensuring clients receive the healthcare and support they need.

Your Responsibility 

  • Deliver clinical care to clients with AOD dependence, chronic disease, mental health concerns, and other health conditions.
  • Conduct intake assessments in collaboration with case managers and support teams.
  • Coordinate access to medical and specialist services such as GPs, psychiatrists, optometrists, and diabetes clinics.
  • Administer medications, liaise with prescribers, and monitor compliance.
  • Support clients with complex health and social needs using a person-centered, trauma-informed approach.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with best-practice healthcare standards.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external healthcare providers to support client care.
  • Contribute to professional development, quality improvement, and research initiatives.

You Will Need

  • At least 3 years of clinical experience, ideally in mental health, AOD, primary health, emergency care, or homeless health services.
  • Strong clinical assessment, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • A commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic healthcare environment.
  • A genuine interest in working with diverse and vulnerable populations.
  • Proficiency in documentation, record-keeping, and basic IT systems.
