Your Role 

As the Warehouse General Hand you well, assist in the daily operation of the warehouse and perform task as prescribed by the Warehouse Supervisor in accordance with the Society’s policies and procedures.

Your Responsibility

  • Assist with pre-sorting and sorting of stock including bric a brac, textiles, books or other items in the warehouse whilst guaranteeing a consistent level of quality
  • Assist in preparing bales of textiles using appropriate machinery
  • Perform daily equipment safety checks on the bale presses, following the safe work procedure to identify any repairs that may be needed.
  • Assist with unloading donations / stock from incoming trucks as needed.
  • Assist with the preparation of retail stock orders
  • Ensure all monetary donations found whilst sorting are properly recorded.
  • Keep the warehouse clean and organised by regular sweeping, removing debris, and arrange items in their designated locations

You Will Need:

  • Experience within a warehouse facility.
  • Able to work as part of a team and independently
  • Clear and effective communication with warehouse staff, supervisors and other team members.
  • Physically able to perform manual tasks required of this position within a warehouse environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of Manual Handling procedures.
  • Flexibility in responding to changing priorities and tasks
  • Thorough knowledge of Work, Health and Safety legislation and procedures, including manual handling
