About the Role
Under the guidance of the Manager, NEXUS, provide clinical leadership, education and training, and support organisational development to achieve improved outcomes for clients with Dual Diagnosis in Alcohol & Drug, Clinical Mental Health and Mental Health Community Support Services in the cities of Yarra, Boroondara, Banyule and Nillumbik.
- Provide clinical leadership and act as a role model / mentor to staff in providing evidence-based practice in Dual Diagnosis.
- Demonstrate extensive understanding of practice issues associated with Dual Diagnosis.
- Engage effectively with a variety of stakeholders in a range of settings promoting a commitment to working collaboratively with consumers, carers, members of the multidisciplinary team and external agencies.
- Develop and deliver training programs that will improve knowledge, skills and confidence in providing better integrated care to people with MH & Substance use issues.
- Provide Primary, Secondary and Tertiary consultation to Mental Health and/or Drug Treatment agencies.
- Develop and support change management and or Project management with services around QI improvements supporting integrated care to people with MH & Substance use issues.
- Promote and facilitate cross-sector collaborations between MH & AOD sectors.
Classifications for this position will range from:
- RPN Grade 4 NP75 - NP77 ($107,577 - $115,850 per annum pro rata)
- OT/SW Grade 3 YB24 – YB27 or YC46 - YC49 ($97,650 - $111,566 per annum pro rata)
- Psychologist Grade 3 PL1 – PL4 ($104,078 - $119,095 per annum pro rata)
Your Contribution
- Bachelor Degree in either Occupational Therapy or Social Work, Clinical Masters in Psychology and current Registration as a Psychologist under the Health Professions Registration Act 2005 (Vic), Division 3 or Division 1 Nurse with Psychiatric Endorsement from the AHPRA
- Occupational Therapy, Clinical Psychology and nursing - Current registration or eligibility for membership with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Social Work – Current registration with AASW or eligibility for AASW registration. AASW Mental Health Accreditation is highly regarded. Overseas qualified Social Workers to provide evidence of AASW assessment of qualifications
- Clinical Psychology – Practice Endorsement as a ‘Clinial’ Psychologist with AHPRA or engaged in an approved registrar program towards ‘Clinical’ endorsement
- Current Victorian driver’s licence
- Current National Criminal History Check, or willing to obtain

NEXUS Dual Diagnosis Service is part of a State-Wide Victorian Dual Diagnosis Initiative focused on providing capacity building through clinical consultation, training/education, organisational development and inter-sectorial collaboration within the Drug Treatment Services and Mental Health Services. NEXUS primarily focuses its activities in the cities of Yarra, Boroondara, Banyule and Nillumbik.
