ABOUT THE ROLE

The NDIS Billing Officer is responsible for the accurate and timely management of billing and invoicing processes related to services provided under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). This role ensures compliance with NDIS guidelines, supports financial transparency, and contributes to the overall efficiency of service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate and process invoices for NDIS-funded services in accordance with individual plans and service agreements.
  • Submit claims through the NDIS MyPlace portal/My NDIS portal, via Plan Managers and Self Managed clients and ensure accurate record keeping.
  • Monitor claim statuses, follow up on rejections or discrepancies, and resolve payment issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate client records, including support bookings, service agreements, and NDIS plan details.
  • Liaise with participants, support coordinators, plan managers, and internal staff to clarify billing queries.
  • Reconcile payments and prepare reports on billing performance and outstanding accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with NDIS pricing arrangements and limits.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of billing processes and procedures.
  • Provide support during audits or financial reporting as required.

ABOUT YOU

Essential:

  • Demonstrated experience in billing, invoicing, or accounts administration – ideally within an NDIS or healthcare setting.
  • Sound understanding of the NDIS framework and funding models, including knowledge of the MyPlace portal and My NDIS portal.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial record keeping.
  • Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets, and familiarity with accounting or client management software.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional manner when dealing with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Understanding of privacy, confidentiality, and data security requirements in handling client information.

Desirable:

  • Experience using NDIS-specific systems (e.g. Careview, SupportAbility, Lumary).
  • Knowledge of NDIS pricing arrangements and payment rules.
