St Joseph’s Outreach Services (SJOS) was established over 25 years ago as a volunteer run organisation focused on providing emergency relief to the vulnerable. We are a non-denominational organisation with a strong focus on diversity, inclusion and respect amongst our members, volunteers and visitors.
SJOS operates and maintains 12 fully furnished self-contained units providing homes for the vulnerable, a Food Store operating three days a week supplying staple foods to those in need, a Bread Bank which is accessible to the community 24 hours a day and a Harvest Garden from which all produce is made available to visitors of the Food Store. Each of these initiatives support the community’s increasing needs, doing so in a way that focuses on adaptive reuse and environmental sustainability. These programs are a constant source of help for over 13,000 individuals a year.

We are seeking candidates seeking to join a working hands-on board, with relevant experience in the financially disadvantaged and homelessness sectors or other not-for-profit sectors – or who have the relevant skills, are passionate and wish to contribute to these sectors. Our priority need is for individuals with skills and expertise in:
We are also open to hearing from anyone who has other skills or experience that may be relevant to SJOS’s work and who may be interested membership on one of our various subcommittees.
