Full- or part-time hours will be considered, with some days of each week based in Paddington and Granville.

OUR SERVICES

Centre 360 Youth And Family Service

Centre 360 Youth and Family Service specialises in counselling, case work and early intervention for disadvantaged young people and their families. Our holistic services include family and youth counselling and case work, in-school early intervention and prevention group work, therapeutic groups for young people, and parenting programs.

The House of Welcome

The House of Welcome welcomes, shelters and empowers people seeking asylum and refugees, regardless of their age, gender, sexuality, nationality or religion. We provide client-centred holistic supports that nurture hope, advocate for justice and promote self-reliance, while acknowledging the dignity and rights of each individual. ​

YOUR ROLE

The Communications and Digital Marketing Manager is a new position requiring dynamism, creativity, curiosity and drive. The successful candidate reports to the CEO and is a critical member of the St Francis Social Services team.

In this exciting role you will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead, monitor, implement and evaluate communications strategies to recruit new supporters, retain current supporters and increase financial support, via digital appeals, newsletters, social media, growing networks and connections, working in collaboration with the Leadership Team and the Grants and Engagement Manager
  • Monitor political, social and media landscapes and proactively identify opportunities to grow brand awareness/awareness of St Francis’ point of difference, to help us extend our impact / make a difference for the people we support
  • Develop and guide brand voice (including brand and language guidelines)
  • Create and coordinate dynamic and compelling content to engage with media, donors and stakeholders in order to increase our supporter base. This will include producing quarterly newsletters, press releases, opinion pieces, talking points, web content, social media, briefs, etc.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and support to SFSS to respond to emerging and immediate issues and manage day-to-day marketing, communications and public relations activities
  • Grow and nurture new relationships between St Francis Social Services, House of Welcome and Centre 360 community, corporate partners and donors, the media and government
  • Support the development and implementation of ambassador outreach programs
  • Refresh, maintain and update the SFSS website and social media presence
  • Contribute to strategy and assist with major SFSS fundraising campaigns and events

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide leadership, guidance and support in all aspects of communications, marketing, public relations and brand
  • Develop and commit to annual KPIs in support of the SFSS Strategic Plan and Implementation Plan
  • Maintain a commitment to best practice and continuous quality improvement in accordance with SFSS Code of Conduct, policies and procedures, aligning team culture with SFSS values and vision
  • Create, maintain and develop effective professional connections with relevant external stakeholders
  • Participate in relevant professional development
  • Comply with legal obligations and mitigate risk. Maintain appropriate professional and ethical standards, operational transparency and communication pathways to enhance service delivery and empower clients. Protect the confidentiality and privacy of clients, clients’ records and all records. Inform your supervisor of any concerns, issues or difficulties as they arise.
  • Foster and promote staff wellbeing and a team environment consistent with the ethos of SFSS. Take care of self and others in the team.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in communications, journalism, media, public relations, fundraising, marketing, humanities, social policy or related fields
  • A nuanced understanding of the media and political landscape and a demonstrated ability to produce and deliver engaging and compelling content and launch effective campaigns and events
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capacity to manage complexity and attend to detail, as well as the ability to generate new ideas, solve problems and work autonomously on an agreed agenda within timeframes and budget
  • Excellent demonstrated interpersonal skills and a proven ability to contribute to a cohesive, positive and collaborative team environment
  • Values-driven approach to life and work and a commitment to social justice and a willingness to support the culture and mission of SFSS. This includes a demonstrated ability to work sensitively in a culturally and linguistically diverse environment with a strong commitment to strengths-based and trauma-informed practices.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

  • Experience within the not-for-profit sector as an employee or volunteer
  • Demonstrated understanding of policy frameworks and issues encountered by disadvantaged young people and their families and refugees and people seeking asylum in Australia
  • Experience in a donor management role, demonstrating the ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders, engage with donors and supporters to grow revenue and donor base and develop business opportunities
  • Driver’s licence.

OTHER

  • Applicants must be resident in and have full working rights for Australia
  • Occasional out of hours work will be required, with time in lieu arrangements in place
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination, Working with Children Check required
  • A National Criminal History Check will be undertaken for the successful candidate

SALARY

$85,000 per Annum + Super + Salary Packaging Available (Part Time pro rata)
