The Queensland Greens and Stephen Bates MP are seeking 3 x 2-4 day per week campaign organisers on long-term contracts until the next federal election, due in May 2025.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Campaign Organiser will work to organise the Brisbane community around local and federal issues, focused on Stephen’s re-election at the next federal election.

This role is funded by the Queensland Greens and will report to the State Director, while working closely with staff in the Member’s electorate office. The position is offered under the Australian Greens Multi Enterprise Staff Collective Agreement 2021, and includes:

  • A starting salary of $65,817.11 per annum pro-rata ($33.31 per hour) working 2-4 days per week as negotiated;
  • Superannuation of 11% in addition to salary;
  • Contracted role until May 2025, or until the federal election, whichever is soonest.

A probationary period of three months will apply and may be subject to extension by a maximum of three months. All employees are expected to sign a confidentiality and code of conduct agreement before the commencement of their employment.

THE CAMPAIGN ORGANISER WILL:

  • Proactively identify issues the local community are engaged in and the Member can support with resources
  • Recruit and organise a broad volunteer base, develop training materials and workshops to upskill key volunteers, and coordinate supporter engagement events
  • Lead field campaign activities in collaboration with local Greens campaign teams, including doorknocking and phonebanking
  • Coordinate and attend mobile offices, stalls, community meetings and events in collaboration with local Greens campaign teams
  • Maintain relationships with interest groups in the electorate, following up issues where appropriate
  • All other duties as directed

ABOUT YOU:

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Experience working in a similar and successful role previously
  • Have relevant experience with software packages used internally by the Party
  • Experience in working in complex organisational structures
  • Experience in bringing teams together to achieve desired outcomes
  • Experience with and skills in conflict resolution
  • A commitment to Green politics and processes including consensus decision making
  • Commitment to the Greens charter and policies including an understanding of internal structures and processes
