Support is required for an old-fashioned gentlemen living in Tinbeerwah who loves music of all kinds but especially country, blues, and rock and roll. This gentleman can usually be found listening to his radio, smoking cigarettes and recording his favourite songs onto old school tapes. He has a wicked sense of humour and loves to make people laugh. He also loves cars, trucks, motorbikes (especially Harley Davidson), pretty much anything with a motor that’s loud and goes fast, and loves going out to Mothar Mountain Speedway in Gympie during the racing season to cheer on the racers, his favourite being the modified sedans. This gentleman lives in supported accommodation and enjoys spending time with his close friends, good food, Bundy rum, and spending time in the bush. Car and music enthusiasts welcome! Sense of humour mandatory. Workers must be comfortable to support person with cigarette smoking.

The Role:

• In-home Support
• Community access

Shifts:

• Weekdays 10:30am – 3pm
• Saturdays and Sundays 10am – 2pm

The Successful applicant will:

• Demonstrate excellent communication skills
• Have experience with the aged but young at heart!
• Preferably have experience with mental health & dementia support

* Knowledge & awareness of Social Role Valorisation Theory (SRV) is also desirable with a demonstrated commitment to respect of a person's value, autonomy and choice.

Essential requirements:

• +2 years experience Disability support work
• Comfortable with smoking
• Open Driver’s license and own vehicle with insurance
• Current First Aid Certificate & CPR
• NDIS Worker Screening/Yellow Card (or willing to obtain)
• Blue Care (Working with Children Card) (or willing to obtain)
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate (or willing to obtain)
• Live within reasonable travelling distance
