ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Marketing and Communications Manager to work 3 days per week through term time and non-term time. The Marketing and Communications Manager is a key member of the School Leadership Team and will be responsible to the Principal for providing leadership for the development and implementation of the marketing and communications strategic plan.
The Marketing and Communications Manager is a hands-on-role which manages a small team who are responsible for Marketing, Communications, Events and Fundraising across the School. The role supports the School in identifying its market and establishing and enhancing its reputation in the wider community. The Marketing and Communications Manager will promote the School through authentic, high quality and creative marketing and communications strategies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The role is accountable for translating results driven marketing and communication plans into increased applications for student enrolment and employee recruitment and school profile. It will promote the dignity, strengths and opportunities for inclusion of people living with disabilities.
- Strategic development and enhancement of all marketing plans for the School to maximise student enrolment, employee recruitment and the reputation of the School in the media and the wider community.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive branding strategy and standards aligned with the School’s ethos and values.
- Provide oversight and leadership to the School’s website by coordinating the content, news and videos to effectively increase the School’s online presence.
- Oversee and further develop the School’s presence in all relevant social media and digital platforms using trackable and accountable methodologies.
- Contribute to broader School Strategic planning and provide timely and regular insights and reports.
- Ongoing development of initiatives to build a sense of community and belonging for current and future members of the School community.
- Ongoing review of all marketing materials to ensure ‘best practice’ documentation for staff, students, and prospective enrolments.
- Provide a consistent flow of internal marketing communications to the St Lucy’s Community through newsletters, school website, Facebook, Instagram, emails, and other strategies.
- Develop relationships with local media outlets to formulate and prepare press releases and other materials to the media to provide newsworthy stories that will convey the St Lucy’s School story to the broader community.
- Highly developed skills and experience in writing articles, publications, and marketing materials.
- Manage the Fundraising and Event Manager who is responsible for coordinating school and fundraising events, fundraising programs and securing strong sustainable relationships with donors to maintain the fundraising income and profile of the school.

- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business, Marketing and or Journalism or related field or demonstrated experience equivalent to the role and qualifications.

- Highly refined communication skills, both written and oral, being sensitive to all circumstances.
- Experience in the presentation and marketing of an independent school or not for profit, is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in change management with a human centred-approach.

- Strong service orientation, work ethic and the ability to foster an outstanding service culture.
