Your contribution

SSI's Food Truck, "Food for Thought" is the latest social enterprise that will be operated and managed by the Food Truck Supervisor to support the growth of this enterprise in consultation with the Youth Employment and Social Enterprise Manager as required.

The main focus of this role will be to:

  • Assist in the growth of the Food Truck Social Enterprise including managing the day to day operation of the truck and one staff
  • Create new and innovative menus, source new venues and events for the food truck "Food for Thought" to be present
  • Establish and demonstrate a high standard of professionalism and innovation in the delivery of service to all customers

Selection crtieria

Do you have experience working in a commercial kitchen and hold relevant Vocational Hospitality Qualifications including Food Safety Supervisor Certification, commercial cookery and food safety handling? Do you have previous customer service experience and basic managerial skills to lead and manage a small team?

We're looking for someone with high levels of emotional intelligence and cultural mindfulness who thrives on collaboration and team work. Your ability to 'think outside the box' for creative menu planning will be very well received along with your excellent communication skills, safety awareness and time management capabilities. If you possess previous experience working in a food truck or retail/commercial premise that would be an added bonus but not essential, however your experience cooking Middle Eastern cuisine is an absolute must for this role.
