YOUR CONTRIBUTION

The Disability Employment Services (DES) Team Leader is responsible for providing day-to-day leadership to SSI's DES sites, managing DES contracts at site level, overseeing teams of DES Employment Consultants, ensuring job seekers' needs and expectations are being met in line with customer experience standards and contractual obligations under the Disability Employment Services program, as well as liaising regularly with key stakeholders, employers, government departments, and managing and maintaining community relationships.

The DES Team Leader is responsible for [or assists with job seeker caseload and caseload allocations at a site level. The DES Team Leader is also expected to carry a small caseload and assist with post placement support activities to assist with workforce or individual site needs as and when required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead a group of sites and teams of DES Employment Consultants to provide leadership and guidance to staff to ensure service delivery is at a high standard, quality assurance and contractual standards are met, and that financial performance expectations are met for the site.
  • Allocate job seeker caseloads at a site level to DES Employment Consultants and ensure minimum standard of quality service is available to all job seekers
  • Establish, manage, and maintain relationships with Centrelink, employers, government department representatives, specialist providers, and community providers. Refer job seekers to specialist or community providers as and when required.
  • Liaise with Employment Solutions Officer and Community Capacity & Business Officer for your region regularly to ensure suitable employment opportunities for job seekers are being provided on an ongoing basis.
  • Represent SSI and promote SSI's services through networking with employer and industry groups, community organisations, other service providers, and broader local community.
  • Ensure high level quality service delivery for all job seekers across all sites in line with SSI's service delivery model, SSI's policies and procedures, and DES contractual guidelines and requirements.
  • Other duties as directed from time to time within your skills range and capacity.

ABOUT YOU

  • Certificate IV in Employment Services, Career Development, Disability Services, or other similar qualification, desirable or be willing to work towards.
  • Proven business development, sales or marketing ability including excellent communication skills, high level negotiation skills, and persuasive ability.
  • Experience interacting with job seekers both in groups and in one-on-one settings.
  • Customer centric approach and the ability to work towards customer service standards, KPIs, and targets.
  • Good working knowledge of local, state and national labour markets.
  • Previous experience working in the Disability Employment Services sector and an understanding of working with long term unemployed job seekers is desirable
  • An understanding of the challenges facing people with a disability or mental illness entering the workforce, or any lived experience in this area is desirable
  • Experience working with CALD or refugee communities is desirable
