The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) is the representative body for all undergraduate students at the University of Sydney. The SRC run a free casework and legal service for students, represent students to the University, and organise activism and advocacy on a wide range of issues. The SRC is funded by the University through SSAF, but operates independently and runs annual elections which determine the organisation of the SRC.
The SRC is seeking an experienced person to plan, conduct and finalise the 2023 Annual Elections. The Electoral Officer will oversee the election of Council Representatives, Honi Soit Editors, NUS delegates and the President. The elections must be run according to the constitution and regulations, requiring the electoral officer to manage a team of polling booth attendants, an online voting system, and managing issues prior to and during the elections.
The election will be held in late September 2023 (with official dates to be set by the Electoral Officer) and work will commence from July 2023. The role will conclude around October 2023, with the final task being conducting the special meeting of Representatives-elect in October/November 2023.
$16,000 plus 10.5% superannuation. Half the stipend paid upon appointment to the position and the remaining amount upon tabling the Electoral Officer’s Report to Council.
