Looking to join a practice which has a focus on providing strong clinical leadership in a lead position?

SPELD Victoria supports schools and families throughout the State of Victoria by providing a range of targeted specialist services that are designed to improve student achievement and engagement. Due to increasing demand, we are seeking applications from experienced practitioners with skills in assessment and a strong interest in the field of education to hold the position of Lead Psychologist either full-time or part-time.

We will offer you

  • Permanent part-time or full-time role
  • Salary packaging up to $18,550 on a range of benefits such as mortgage, rent, etc and packaging up $2,650 on meal entertainment expenses

Applicants must be eligible for full registration as a psychologist and post-graduate studies in educational and developmental psychology are highly desirable.

We would welcome a psychologist who meets the following criteria:

Essential: 

  • Eligibility for full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA).
  • Experience supervising and mentoring early career psychologists.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in psychological assessment and report writing with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds.
  • Ability to develop positive rapport with children and adults.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work independently and as part of a team environment, in a clinical role and in the variety of roles undertaken as part of a not-for-profit organisation.
  • Commitment to advocate on behalf of clients and to extend own professional development.

Desirable:

  • Accredited Masters, Doctorate or equivalent Postgraduate degree in Psychology (preferably Educational and Developmental).
  • Currently an AHPRA-approved supervisor.
  • Specialist knowledge in the identification and remediation of specific learning disorders.
  • Knowledge of professional literature (research).
  • Experience and knowledge of evidence-informed instruction, in particular, for students with learning disorders.
  • Experience developing and running Professional Learning workshops.
  • Experience in an educational environment.
  • Knowledge of the Victorian school system.
