Sonder has a 25 year history of delivering primary care services. With a presence across both country and metro SA, our aim is to improve the health and wellbeing of the community by coordinating and integrating health and community services by working in partnership to identify local needs and create strategies in response.

The Mental Health Clinician will work as part of a multidisciplinary mental health team to deliver focused psychological interventions for individuals with mental health disorders in a primary care setting.

The role will be responsible for:

  • Providing focused psychological interventions (individual and group) to clients across a range of teams (adult, adolescents, women in the perinatal period, children, acute etc.) within the Sonder service areas
  • Planning and implementing assessment and treatment services
  • Group program development and implementation where appropriate and necessary
  • Liaison and consultation with other professional employees
  • Participation in individual and group supervision, and attendance at team meetings and external meetings

The Successful Applicant Must Have:

  • Ability to design and implement psychological interventions for individuals
  • Ability to administer and interpret appropriate psychometric tests and outcome measurements as required
  • Ability to apply evidenced based psychological interventions including understanding of current theoretical concepts within mental health sciences and their application to mental health issues and problems
  • Capability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Capability to perform multiple tasks and meet deadlines

The successful application will hold an approved tertiary qualification in an allied health discipline, including social work, psychology or mental health nursing. Membership of an appropriate professional body. Social workers are required to be eligible for full membership with AASW. Psychologists, mental health nurses, and occupational therapists are required to have full registration with AHPRA.
