The Shire of East Pilbara is a well-established Local Government Authority in Western Australia, which services the town sites of Newman, Marble Bar, Nullagine and local communities.

We now seek a highly organised and motivated individual to fill the permanent position Youth Engagement Officer. In this challenging, yet exciting role, while under the direction of the Coordinator Youth Services, the successful applicant will assist in the effective running of the Youth Centre. This includes but is not limited to facility management, planning and delivery of the programs, creation and coordination of school holiday programs, staff supervision, building a rapport with young people and engaging with stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, a diploma or higher qualification in Youth Work, Community Development, Social Science Discipline or similar; OR a Certificate IV in Youth Work with at least one (1) year demonstrated relevant work experience is essential. The successful applicant must possess a current Senior First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain, Working With Children Check and a Police Clearance (dated within the last 3 months).

The salary package is between $70,946.68 and $76,602.98 per annum (inclusive of up to $14.5% superannuation). Additional benefits include the Living Allowance (up to $15K), 5 weeks annual leave, a uniform allowance, parental leave, eligibility for long service leave, annual travel assistance professional development and a 50% discount for recreational/gym/aquatic memberships and free fitness assessments.
