The Shire of East Pilbara is a well-established Local Government Authority in Western Australia, which services the town sites of Newman, Marble Bar and Nullagine.

We now have an exciting opportunity for a suitable candidate to fill the vacant role of Community Development Officer within the Community Wellbeing team. Under the direction of the Coordinator Community Wellbeing, the successful candidate will assist in the effective planning, development, implementation, delivery, monitoring and promotion of Community Wellbeing activities, programs and processes.

To be successful within this position, the applicant must have or be working towards a qualification, or have relevant work experience relating to the position. You must evidence a good understanding of Project Management Methodology, sound customer management skills, highly-developed communication skills and have sound knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety legislation.

The salary is based on Level 7 of the Local Government Industry Award 2010 and is between the range of $68,296.38 and $72,181.73 per annum. An East Pilbara allowance of $5,200 per annum and District allowance of $930.80 per annum inclusive.

Parental Leave is provided with the choice of either eight (8) weeks full pay or sixteen (16) weeks half pay as per our policy.
