We have an exciting opportunity for a clinical practitioner to provide therapeutic support in our Head to Health program servicing Muswellbrook, Singleton and Scone. Head to Health is a free mental health support service for people aged 18+ experiencing distress and provides a welcoming entry point for engagement, assessment, care planning and coordination and recovery-oriented interventions. This new program is funded by the Commonwealth Government to 30 June 2026.

This role gives you an opportunity to:

  • contribute to mental health literacy in the Upper Hunter

This role offers flexible working hours across the Head to Health operating hours, which are:

  • Monday to Friday 10 am to 8 pm.
  • Saturday 12 pm to 6 pm
  • Sunday 10 am to 2 pm

The successful candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in psychology, mental health nursing or social work (with mental health accreditation) and current (provisional) registration with AHPRA or AASW.
  • At least 2 years demonstrated supervised experience in the area of mental health and AOD
  • Knowledge and experience in the provision of evidence based therapeutic services and ability to apply a trauma-informed and person-centred approach within a recovery-oriented framework.
  • Experience participating in and actively contributing to multiservice case review meetings with psychologists, psychiatrists, allied health professionals, local health district staff and other relevant government and non-government organisations.
  • Excellent relationship, negotiation and conflict management skills with a proven ability to develop and maintain strong and effective relationships with service providers, staff, peers and key stakeholders in the local community
  • Experience in implementing and monitoring of quality assurance processes across customer service programs, including feedback informed treatment, program review and risk management.
