Purpose of the role

We are looking for a passionate and experienced professional who believes that mindfulness has an integral role to play in the mental health and wellbeing of young people across Australia.

The Smiling Mind Project Officer will support the Project Manager in successfully delivering all of our innovation focused projects, taking on the responsibility of managing the day to day administration and coordination of these key projects, in aid of program development and new and innovative ways to deliver mindfulness to Australia’s youth.

Skills and experience

  • Organisational skills – demonstrated ability to organise own workload and prioritise timelines
  • A high level of administration skills such as attention to detail, planning, accuracy and efficiency skills
  • Capacity to develop and review administration systems, processes and procedures
  • Commitment to delivering excellence in customer service – Effective communication and relationship building skills, with a willingness to work cooperatively with internal and external stakeholders to organise program delivery schedules
  • Experience in accurate record keeping and contact management using CRM system
  • Experience with digital project management platforms (MS project, asana etc)
  • Experience in project evaluation and research including reviewing & summarising literature, administering surveys and reporting on findings
  • An understanding of the role mindfulness can play in the development of young people and its benefits within the school setting
  • A belief in mindfulness, its practice, and its ability to support mental health
  • Understanding of the mental health and/or education space

Functions of the role

Project support

  • Day-to-day administration and logistics support of grant funded projects and partnerships including arranging meetings, workshops, follow up and ensuring our projects and programs are delivered with high impact
  • Provide relevant & timely information and progress updates to project manager & operations team to assist in planning project timelines & key deliverables
  • Responsible for quality assurance and improvement tasks, maintaining data integrity across all systems.
  • Development of reports, briefings and minutes
  • Support project evaluation tasks such as data collection, entry and quality improvement tasks
  • Proactively assist with other administrative and project support tasks
  • Other responsibilities as required by the projects team

This is initially offered as a full-time 12-month contract role with the possibility of extension.
