The Opportunity
As a leading Group Training Organisation, our payroll is unique. You'll manage end-to-end payroll for our apprentices and trainees, ensuring every pay run is accurate, compliant and delivered on time.
You will take full ownership of the payroll function, providing a high level of accuracy, compliance and customer service. You'll be a trusted expert who manages the integrity of our payroll systems, ensures compliance with relevant legislation and awards, and ensures all statutory obligations, reconciliations, and reporting requirements are met.
Key responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare and process all wages and salaries, ensuring timely payment to all employees, apprentices, and trainees in compliance with relevant awards and agreements.
- Maintain accurate payroll records, including pay rates, allowances, deductions, leave entitlements, and overtime schedules.
- Utilise and maintain payroll software, liaising with software providers as required, and stay updated on payroll legislation and system enhancements.
- Prepare and distribute employee Group Certificates / Income Statements and ensure compliance with taxation reporting requirements.
- Reconcile payroll-related obligations, superannuation, and other deductions, ensuring timely and accurate payments to relevant authorities.
- Administer all records and payments related to Workers Compensation and rehabilitation, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
- Assists with payroll audits, ensuring all payroll transactions are accurate, properly documented, and aligned with internal controls.
Who we are looking for
You'll thrive in this role if:
- You have proven experience managing end-to-end payroll in a medium to large organisation.
- You have a strong working knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, Awards, National Employment Standards, superannuation and taxation requirements.
- You're highly organised, detail-oriented and take pride in delivering accurate payroll with exceptional attention to detail.
- You communicate professionally and build positive working relationships with employees, managers and external stakeholders.
- You're confident using payroll systems and enjoy identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies.
Experience within the apprenticeship, training, recruitment, or workforce solutions industries will be highly regarded.
