About MNDA:

Motor Neurone Disease Australia (MNDA) is the national peak body representing state-based organisations dedicated to supporting individuals living with and affected by Motor Neurone Disease (MND). With a history dating back to 1993, MNDA has been the unwavering voice for the MND community.

Through its national and international networks, MNDA focuses on increasing awareness and understanding of MND, advocating for the needs of those affected, and funding world-class research aimed at better treatments, improved care, and, ultimately, a cure.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MNDA, you will be entrusted with the following responsibilities:

  • Strategic Execution: Develop and execute the strategic plan in close collaboration with the Board, leading a transformative agenda to firmly establish MNDA as the peak MND organisation in Australia.
  • Organisational Leadership: Provide visionary leadership across all aspects of the organisation, including support for State MND Associations.
  • Advocacy and Influence: Drive advocacy and exert influence within the federal government, particularly in significant portfolios such as Health, Disability, and Aged Care.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Foster collaborative and cohesive engagement and partnerships with key stakeholders both internally and externally, including other MND partners.
  • Sustainability: Ensure the organisation's ongoing financial sustainability by securing increased funding and establishing new revenue streams.
  • Team Development: Nurture a successful and highly collaborative team to effectively implement the strategic plan.

Your Background:

The ideal candidate for this role is an accomplished CEO with experience in the not-for-profit sector, preferably within the health sector. You must have strong commercial acumen and possess a demonstrable track record of government and advocacy experience at the federal level. Leadership and influencing skills are paramount, as is the ability to build trust, credibility, and cohesion with stakeholders. A genuine passion and empathy for MNDA's vision and cause are essential.

This represents a unique opportunity to work with an organisation that has been the steadfast voice of the MND community for over 30 years. Join us in continuing to advocate for the needs of those most affected.

MNDA is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from individuals of all backgrounds.
