SHINE SA is a leading not-for-profit provider of primary care services and education for sexual and relationship wellbeing. We work in partnership with government, health, education and community agencies, and communities to improve the sexual and reproductive health and relationship well-being of the community.

We have an opportunity for a Sexual Health Counsellor (see Job and Person Specification for the appropriate qualifications) at SHINE SA, based at our Woodville site for 3 days a week, and at headspace Onkaparinga for 1 day a week.

In this role you will provide sexual health counselling to improve the sexual and mental health of clients by managing a therapeutic counselling caseload; working with SHINE SA’s communities of interest on a broad range of issues including but not limited to relationship and sexual health issues, impact of multiple disadvantages, the impact of rape and sexual assault on sexual health, gender identity/gender transition, and sexual identity.

Essential Educational / Vocational Qualifications:

  • Current registration as a Clinical or Registered Psychologist or a tertiary qualification in Social Work and eligibility for membership of a relevant professional association (eg AASW, AHPRA, APS, PACFA)
  • Have the ability to gain a Medicare Provider Number
  • Minimum of 4 years supervised experience
