SHINE for Kids is the only national charity in Australia that works solely to support the children and families of people involved in the criminal justice system. We provide a range of social support, family, and educational services across the ACT, NSW, QLD, WA and Victoria.
Your New Role
We are looking for an experienced, passionate and skilled person to support the Chief Executive Officer by providing strategic and operational advice and coordination across the organisation to achieve key objectives.
You will build and maintain long term relationships with key stakeholders such as the Board, government bodies, corporate donors, alliance partners, suppliers, children, young people and their families.
As a senior member of the organisation, you will by your attitude, conduct and behaviour, actively promote the values and objectives of SHINE for Kids at all times. You will act as an ambassador for and on behalf of SHINE for Kids in promoting and fostering goodwill with all external and internal stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Provide issues management and support, responding to emerging issues to ensure effective resolution with minimal risk to the organisation.
- Develop and maintain a range of collaborative networks, including participation in Committees, to represent SHINE for Kids’ interest.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify how changing business requirements may be delivered with existing solutions.
- Coordinate and ensure the timely and accurate provision of high level advice and information relevant to the Chief Executive Officer.
- Act as the Executive point of contact, liaise with stakeholders and action requests to coordinate communication and proactively ensure responses meet deadlines
- Work in a fast-paced environment, while been responsible for gathering and documenting accurate information about the business needs.
Demonstrated Behavioural Conduct
- As a senior member of the organisation, the Executive Officer will by their attitude, conduct and behaviour, actively promote the values and objectives of SHINE for Kids at all times.
- The incumbent will act as an ambassador for and on behalf of SHINE for Kids in promoting and fostering goodwill with all external and internal stakeholders.
Personal Attributes

- Be an excellent communicator with strong analytical and problem-solving skill
- Ability to effectively consult and negotiate with stakeholders to coordinate projects and daily activities
- A detailed knowledge of the commissioning and procurement in a government and non-government environment
- Ability to understand and quickly interpret a wide variety of requests that come to the Organisation
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or proven experience delivering policy outcomes, strategic planning or performance improvement within a complex, sensitive and high-volume environment
