About the Role

Based in sunny Shepparton, Victoria, this clinical position involves managing resident care daily, providing leadership and support to care staff and Enrolled Nurses, conducting assessments, and implementing best practices for positive outcomes. Responsibilities include overseeing medical interventions, consulting with allied health and medical personnel, and ensuring timely documentation that meets regulatory requirements. Reporting issues to the Facility Manager and ensuring adequate staffing are also essential. Key tasks include promoting individualised care, providing clinical leadership, ensuring accurate care plans, performing care activities, practicing infection control, and supporting staff development, all in line with SRV’s mission, values, policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.

Essential skills and attributes (selection criteria):

  • Registered Division 1 Nurse with current National Practicing Registration
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in managing large teams
  • Excellent problem-solving and care planning skills
  • Experience in clinical and staff management of a unit/facility
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and is self-motivated
  • Proficient with computerised documentation systems and records
  • Experience in residential aged care setting or willingness to learn
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain working relationships within a multi-disciplinary team
