Grants & Partnerships Manager - Remote / Work from Home

Seed Indigenous Youth Climate Network

Join Seed – a powerful movement for climate justice, led by and for First Nations young people.

Seed is Australia’s first Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth-led climate network. We are building a movement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people for climate justice. Our vision is for a strong and connected network of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people who are empowered and leading the fight for climate justice.

We’re looking for a passionate and values-aligned Grants & Partnerships Manager to join our team and help secure the funding that powers our campaigns, increases the capacity of young people through training and leadership programs, and allows us to co create powerful strategy with frontline communities to protect country.

This role is open to both First Nations people and non-Indigenous allies.

As a proudly First Nations youth-led organisation, we strongly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people to apply.

At the same time, this is one of few roles at Seed that’s also open to non-Indigenous identifying people – we’re looking for the right allies to walk with us, help raise the funds for our work, and grow our collective impact.

About the Role

You’ll lead and deliver Seed’s fundraising program across three key income streams:

  • Grants – identify, write and report on grant opportunities
  • Partnerships – build strong relationships with values-aligned businesses and funding partners
  • Workplace Giving – grow and maintain our giving program with aligned workplaces

You’ll work closely with our Fundraising Director, and have plenty of space to bring creativity and initiative as we test new ideas, build sustainability, and deepen relationships with the team and our supporters who make our work possible.

Who We’re Looking For

You don’t need formal qualifications to apply – we care more about your values, drive, and experience. If you meet most of the criteria below, we’d love to hear from you.

You might be the right fit if you:

  • Are deeply committed to Seed’s mission and understand the importance of climate justice and First Nations justice
  • Have experience working alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities in a respectful and collaborative way
  • Bring at least 2 years’ experience in grant writing, partnerships or fundraising
  • Are a strong communicator – confident writing proposals, reports and emails, and able to break down complex issues clearly
  • Can build and nurture relationships with a wide range of stakeholders – especially values-aligned businesses, funding bodies and allies
  • Are quick to adapt and make the most of strategic opportunities as they arise
  • Enjoy collaborating, giving and receiving feedback, and helping others grow
  • Are skilled in problem-solving, improving systems, and making things more effective and efficient
  • Are self-motivated and organised, able to manage competing deadlines and work independently while staying connected to the team
  • Are open to occasionally working outside regular hours to support key events or campaign moments
  • You can obtain a Working With Children Check (or equivalent) and First Aid Certificate

Bonus points (but not essential):

  • You’re open and available to travel occasionally
  • You’ve used tools like Slack, Zoom, Zapier, or NationBuilder – or are keen to learn
