SECCA is looking for an experienced Education Officer to join our growing team!
This position will report to the Education Lead and Manager and will work in conjunction with the Education and Clinical teams to deliver best practice relationship and sexuality, education and training for individuals with disability and their support networks. This position is critical in supporting SECCA’s clients to affirm their rights and take ownership of decisions in their lives.

About SECCA
At SECCA, our mission is to enrich the lives of individuals with disability through education and therapeutic support focused on sexuality and relationships. Drawing on over 30 years of experience, we are dedicated to empowering individuals, families and carers with knowledge and resources about human relationships, sexuality and sexual health. We achieve this through a range of services including support, counselling, education, consulting and advocacy.
At SECCA, no two days are the same, but you can expect key duties to include:
As an Education Office your key duties include but are not limited to:
- Contribute to team planning, content development and review of educational resources and workshops.
- Develop educational resources, training programs, and tailored workshops within budget.
- Facilitate education sessions and workshops locally, regionally and interstate and online, both independently and with other educators.
- Report and document project and educational deliverables and outcomes by deadlines.
- Provide consultation on issues related to sexuality, relationships and disability.
- Proactively responding to inquiries about SECCA’s services.
- Assist with tender writing as needed.
- Help improve processes for creating resources and educational materials.
- Maintain and support relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage workshop registrations, venue bookings, catering and setup.
- Follow SECCA’s policies, procedures, and standard work instructions.
- Adhere to SECCA and NDIS Code of Conduct.
About You
You would be perfect for the role if you are passionate about supporting individuals with disability and have a value-driven mindset.
The ideal candidate will also have:
- Tertiary qualified in Health Promotion, Education or a related field
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Current Working with Children’s check (WWC)
- Current and valid Driver’s license
Essential:
- Proven experience in projects or sexuality education.
- Knowledge and experience working with people with disability.
- Experience in writing and delivering workshops.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with good judgment and discretion.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a small team.
- Skilled in influencing, negotiating, and maintaining productive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated organisational, analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
- Competent in relevant ICT applications and tools.
- Competent in platforms such as: Mailchimp, humanitix, tribal habits and social media.
- Experience in research and report writing.
Desirable:
- Project management skills, including stakeholder management, scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, and reporting.
- Certificate IV in training and assessment.
- Familiarity with NDIS processes and requirements.
- Interest in and experience with educational resources.
- Background in sexology or related fields of sexual education.
