Head of Commercial - Melbourne / Morwell

Your role

As the Head of Commercial for our Consumer Energy Solutions (CES) business unit, you will be part of the CES leadership team and accountable for the development and delivery of commercial insights and recommendations. In this role, you will act as a strategic partner for key functions across product, partnerships, delivery and operations, as well as customer acquisition and engagement.

You will also collaborate with the corporate finance business unit to monitor and manage the business unit’s financial performance.

This role reports into the Executive General Manager, Consumer and Innovation, and can be based in either our Melbourne CBD office or our regional office located in Morwell.

What you will do:

  • Lead the development of the commercial strategy, as well as related finance activities including business case development, pricing strategies, profitability analysis, and sales forecasting
  • Develop and implement financial models in relation to opportunities and decision making
  • Lead the commercial contract negotiations and management, ensuring market competitiveness
  • Manage the contract life cycle from inception to execution, ensuring all commercial agreements are compliant, aligned with company policies, financial objectives and CES strategic objectives

Who you are:

  • Proven experience in senior commercial roles, particularly in consumer products (digital or otherwise) and service fields in energy or a related industry.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a strategic mindset and commercial acumen.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering data-driven solutions across various commercial deliverables including business cases, business development, contract negotiations, sales and marketing outcomes.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and communication skills to navigate high-profile commercial negotiations with established counterparties, with a proven track record of securing favourable outcomes in complex business environments.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, with experience developing high-performing teams and collaborating within a high-functioning leadership team.
