Our head office is based in Melbourne. It is preferred that a portion of time is spent working from the office, however if this is not possible due to location, then 100% remote working is also accepted.

About the Opportunity

Are you a seasoned fundraiser with a track record for success in donor acquisition and retention strategies, along with a passion for the oceans?

This is a unique opportunity for someone with passion, dedication and drive to make a significant difference to Marine Conservation. In this exciting role, you will be accountable for generating and optimising the generous donations made by individuals in alignment with Sea Shepherd’s 5-year strategy, by implementing tactics for conversion from single gift to regular giving. Working closely with the Head of Fundraising you will have the opportunity to drive the design and execution of Sea Shepherd’s giving portfolio.

This role will be perfect for a hands-on, team-player looking to own the development of a multi-channel, end-to-end, Individual Giving Program.

What you'll do

  • Coordination and delivery of our annual appeals, regular giving acquisition and supporter engagement journey.
  • Report and analyse the effectiveness of our appeals and regular giving strategy.
  • Work closely with Head of Fundraising on annual plan and budget.
  • Work closely with communications team and other internal stakeholders to collaborate on content and timelines.
  • Seek input from relevant internal and external stakeholders to develop detailed creative appeal briefs.
  • Liaise with external agencies to conduct acquisition, retention, and upgrade programs for both single gift and regular giving programs.
  • Deliver an integrated retention and engagement program, including automated donor journeys and offline communications.
  • Ensure donation processing, receipting, recognition, and ongoing supporter care is delivered to the highest standard.

Who you'll be

  • You’ll have proven experience and success in managing end-to-end appeal campaigns.
  • You’ll be able to demonstrate experience in the successful planning and implementation of donor retention and acquisition strategies.
  • You’ll have experience in report writing, complimented by strong data and analytical skills.
  • You’ll have a clear understanding of fundraising practices in particular regular giving programs.
  • You’ll be a team player with a “can do” attitude able to work collaboratively with other staff and volunteers.
  • You’ll have 2 to 3+ years proven work experience in similar fundraising roles.
  • You’ll have exceptional verbal and written communication skills demonstrated by the ability to develop and maintain relationships with people from all levels of business and community.
  • You’ll have a high attention to detail with excellent organisation, time management and project management skills.
  • Experience using Salesforce NPSP will be highly regarded (or other customer relationship management databases), Mailchimp and 3rd Party platforms.
