We’re looking for a talented Communications Manager to help us amplify science and tell stories that inspire action. At Science for Wildlife, we’re a high-impact not-for-profit focused on conserving our native wildlife and the places we all call home. We undertake applied scientific research across a range of disciplines to ensure evidence-based and effective conservation outcomes, while also engaging the community to build stewardship and local capacity for conservation.

Join us as our Communications Manager and use your storytelling superpowers to inspire action and drive change.
In this role, you’ll lead the way in developing and delivering communications that amplify our science, connect with communities, and enhance our visibility and conservation impact. Your words will reach policymakers, partners, donors, and the public, ensuring our mission doesn’t just stay in the field or the lab, but gets embedded into action.

Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing communication strategies and campaigns
- Creating content for media, website, social media, partners, and donors
- Working with our team to develop and deliver program-related content
- Coordinating media opportunities and preparing media releases
- Supporting community and donor engagement through storytelling and design
- Working with researchers, including attending occasional field trips
- Managing communications tools, digital platforms, and media assets
What you’ll bring to the team
- Excellent writing and storytelling skills, including the ability to communicate science clearly to diverse audiences
- Strategic communication mindset and experience in digital content and campaign delivery
- Skills in media engagement, social media, and content production (e.g. Canva, CRM systems, Mailchimp, Meta)
- A strong eye for design and attention to brand consistency
- Strong project management and collaboration skills

Location and logistics
Location:
NSW-based in the Blue Mountains region. You’ll work remotely plus attend meetings in Katoomba, meet with local stakeholder organisations, and visit field sites with our science team.
