Save Our Sons Duchenne Foundation (SOSDF) was founded in 2008 and we are the peak body for those living with Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy (around 1,000 young people) across Australia.

This condition is rare, muscle wasting and life limiting and mostly affects boys.

Our vision is to find a cure for Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy whilst actively working to ensure enhanced quality of life for those young people and their families affected by this condition.

Save Our Sons Duchenne Foundation exists to:-

  • Improve health outcomes and care for those living with Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy
  • Raise funds to support medical innovation, and education such as specialised nurses in our major children's hospitals, clinical trail staff, PhD scholarships, and research
  • Influence governments and others to bring about change and advances in care and treatment for Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy
  • Provide resources and information for our community.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential Criteria

  • Strong computer literacy using a range of programs: MS Office, Salesforce CRM, Xero and Teams
  • Experience managing a busy office
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple and competing work tasks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Sound knowledge of Work Health and Safety, and HR principles
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skill
  • Self-motivated, demonstrates initiative and pride in completing a task well
  • Personal values must align with Save Our Sons values with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and the ability to build and maintain long-standing relationships
  • A high degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality

CONDITIONS

The position is full time (38 hours per week) and is based in Hurlstone Park (occasional travel may be required to support some events). For the right person school hours may be considered.

Rate will be negotiated based on skills, plus 10% Superannuation, with salary sacrifice option up to $15,900 pa tax free.

A probation period of six months applies.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT SCREENING

The appointee must have a cleared National Police History Check and have a Working with Children’s Check and NSW Driver’s License.
