About the role

The Senior Administration Officer is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Administration team, including planning and allocation of resources to ensure service delivery aligns with organisational priorities, service demand, and the clinical model of care.

This person will draw on their technical expertise to assist the Finance and Systems Manager to strengthen team capability and flexibility to ensure continuity of critical administrative and support functions across SASS.

Key Functions:

  • Coordinate the resourcing and delivery of administrative support functions across SASS, ensuring the Administration team provides responsive, effective and consistent support to organisational operations, service delivery and business priorities.
  • Maintain a hands-on operational role within the Administration team, regularly undertaking reception, telephone, client service and administrative duties to ensure service delivery demands are met
  • Provide day to day supervision, guidance and support to the Administration team in relation to work practices, role expectations and service delivery requirements.
  • Assist with building capability and flexibility within the team through cross training, skill sharing and supported practice opportunities.
  • Support the implementation of continuous improvement activities and organisational change initiatives.
  • Maintenance of the policies, processes and procedures of administration and client management systems required for SASS to meet all legislative and compliance requirements.

  • A relevant Certificate 4 qualification with a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a role that incorporates senior administration and the provision of client facing support services to vulnerable and diverse people
  • Experience providing day to day supervision and support to a small team, with a focus on strengthening team capability and improving operational resilience by reducing single-person dependencies.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well within a small team and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Well-developed data entry, data analysis and computing skills including the use of Microsoft Office and client management software, with experience using PENELOPE (or similar client management system) an advantage.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, the ability to remain calm, focused and solve problems under pressure.
  • Have a current Working with Vulnerable People Card and be willing to obtain a National Police Check.

Benefits

This position will be a part time fixed term role (0.7FTE, 26.6 hours per week) until April 2027. All SASS employees are entitled to full salary packaging benefits, flexible work arrangements, professional development, paid parental leave, and additional paid leave over the Christmas period. This role is located at the SASS offices in the Hobart CBD.
