The role of Petbarn Coordinator has been established to coordinate and provide a pick-up and delivery service for RSPCA NSW between RSPCA establishments and Petbarn stores to ensure effective support to its operations.

The role also has an education focus that requires the coordinator to train Petbarn staff in RSPCA NSW policies and procedures and provide expert advice to Petbarn staff on animal welfare questions and issues The role is responsible for ensuring that animal welfare, education and RSPCA NSW partnerships are a priority.

Responsibilities include ensuring each Petbarn store is equipped with the knowledge, systems and tools required so they can provide a high level of service, advice and guidance to the public, volunteers and other staff at all times. Conduct premise inspections, store audits, attend monthly meetings and training and provide administrative support; this may also extend to other RSPCA NSW sites as advised from time to time.

This role is part-time for a six month contract period from 12/12/2023 - 12/05/2024.

About the Role

• Assessing and transporting animals and/or goods to RSPCA NSW Petbarn facilities
• Provide exceptional animal care and environmental enrichment
• Deliver exceptional customer service and advice to stakeholders
• Communicate effectively with the RSPCA NSW clinics and shelters
• Liaise with external agencies such as Council Rangers, Veterinarians and other Animal Welfare Organisations
• Positively and professionally represent RSPCA NSW at all times

About You

• Certificate II Animal Handling or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years' experience in an animal handling role
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills
• Current unrestricted NSW drivers licence
• Certificate in Veterinary Nursing, advantageous
• Able to lift 20 kgs
