About the role

Are you ready to make a real difference? At Royal Life Saving Society - Australia (RLSSA), we're looking for a dynamic individual to join our passionate team and play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our National Office. As the first point of contact for our company at front desk, you'll play a key role in creating a positive experience for our internal and external stakeholders with your excellent communication skills, professionalism and attention to detail.

As an Administration and Accounts Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing administrative tasks, stock orders and inventory management and providing admin support to the RLSSA team.

Primary Responsibilities:

Reporting to the National Manager – Finance you will have a diverse range of responsibilities including (but not limited to) the following duties:

  • Liaise with suppliers, customers and other clients to ensure all inquiries are responded to promptly and professionally.
  • Managing full-function accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, from invoice processing to banking and reconciliation.
  • Support the National Manager - Finance with the month-end process by assisting in reconciliations, other month-end activities and ad-hoc projects and tasks as required.
  • Efficiently manage customer stock orders from receipt to delivery, stock planning and control and inventory management.
  • Collaborating with team members to coordinate meetings, functions, events, workshops and travel arrangements.
  • Manage day-to-day administrative tasks and provide admin support to the RLSSA team and the front desk, handling phone calls, ordering stationery, mailing and distribution.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, performance, and service quality.

Skills Required:

We're seeking candidates with:

  • 2-3 years demonstrated experience in accounts or related finance and admin role providing exceptional administration, customer service and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Xero experience is a plus) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask a prioritise tasks efficiently, and work both autonomously and collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.
  • A proactive and hands-on approach to problem solving, with a drive for continuous improvement.

Essential Requirements

To be eligible, you must be an Australian or New Zealand resident or citizen and subject to a satisfactory current Working with Children Check before employment.
