As a lead not-for-profit organisation for lived experience of suicide in Australia, Roses in the Ocean (RITO) is focused on building a safe, trained and supported Lived Experience “Workforce” with the expertise and skills needed to bring the lived experience as a voice of change in all aspects of suicide prevention.

We are seeking a Program Administrator to support the NSW Lived Experience Project Coordinator with the establishment and ongoing integration of twenty Lived Experience Advisory Groups across NSW as part of a contract between Roses in the Ocean and the NSW Ministry of Health in relation to the Strategic Framework for Suicide Prevention 2018-2023.

This position reports directly to the NSW Lived Experience Project Coordinator and will work closely with the Roses in the Ocean National Program Manager and Program Administrator, based in Brisbane, with relation to the recruitment, screening, training, delivery and mentoring of the Local Health District (LHD) Lived Experience Advisory Groups. The role will also be responsible for all logistics pertaining to the workshops delivered across NSW.

Qualifications:

All Roses in the Ocean staff have a lived experience of suicide in accordance with the current definition on the Roses in the Ocean website.

Main Responsibilities:

Administration:

  • Take responsibility for logistical organisation of Roses in the Ocean workshops in the NSW Local Health Districts under the supervision and guidance of the Lived Experience Project Coordinator, and the central Program Management team
  • Develop workshop flyers and Expression of Interest forms online
  • Source and book suitable venues and catering
  • Source and arrange pre-workshop meet and greet options
  • Prepare and disseminate participant correspondence
  • Travel arrangement for facilitators including airfares, accommodation, and hire cars
  • Contribution to workshop checklists
  • Dissemination and collection of pre and post evaluation surveys
  • Liaison with external clients, evaluators and providers as required in relation to workshop logistics
  • Respond to participant enquiries and specific requirements in relation to workshop logistics

Communication:

  • Ensure participants are provided with timely information which supports their confidence to participate
  • Ensure the needs of the participants and facilitators are met through the sourcing and arrangement of suitable environments within which to experience our unique workshops
  • Ensure our facilitators are well looked after through thoughtful travel and accommodation selections
