Richmond Fellowship Queensland (RFQ) is seeking a professional and motivated person to be a part of Maryborough team. This role is available as part time with a minimum of 22.8 hours per week.
The Way Back is a non-clinical support service focused on providing practical psychosocial support to people experiencing a suicidal crisis or who have attempted suicide. The Way Back has been developed by beyondblue and is delivered to people who have presented to a hospital following a suicide attempt or people experiencing a suicide crisis. The position is responsible for providing short term support coordination services (non-clinical care and practical support) for people accessing the Way Back Support Service.
The primary purpose for The Indigenous Support Coordinator is to establish referral pathways, increase engagement and referrals from Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities to The Way Back Support Service. To achieve this the Indigenous Support Coordinator will need to strengthen relationships to The Way Back Support Service and provide service support (e.g. relevant training) and deliver case management, non-clinical care and practical supports to individuals in the first three months following a suicide attempt.
The Indigenous Support Coordinator will support and foster a program culture which values lived experience, promotes genuine and open relationships, conflict resolution, responsibility for self, mutual respect and personal growth founded on support values of empowerment, trust, compassion, resilience, diversity, integrity and lifelong learning.
