THE POSITION

Rural West seeks an enthusiastic and motivated person to join their regionally-based Strategic Business Financial Counselling team. Flexible part-time or full-time position based in home-office within the Mid West region servicing clients in the Mid West and surrounding areas.

Small Business & Rural Financial Counsellors have the opportunity to make a big difference in the lives of individuals and families running businesses.

Rural West counsellors assist clients to:

• Address immediate difficulties
• Complete cashflow budgeting and financial analysis
• Review business and enterprise planning
• Resolve debt/creditor issues
• Facilitate negotiations
• Identify assistance schemes where required
• Develop longer-term solutions for a viable future.

ABOUT US

Rural West offer proven strategic business solutions through Small Business and Rural Financial Counselling. We offer a way forward for enterprises to create solutions during difficult financial times. Funded by State and Commonwealth Governments, Rural West is a free, mobile, independent service covering primary producers, fishers, small rural business, and sporting/community groups, including those affected by Covid or drought-related issues.

Rural West have a strong focus on professional development and are committed to ensuring that all counsellors are provided with the skills development opportunities and support they need to get the best possible outcomes for clients.

• Tertiary qualifications (desirable)

DIPLOMA OF FINANCIAL COUNSELLING

All Small Business and Rural Financial Counsellors must either hold or be prepared to obtain a Diploma of Financial Counselling (Rural). Applicants who already hold this diploma shall be highly regarded. If not held, applicants must be prepared to commence study towards the diploma within three months of starting employment and obtain the diploma within two years. Rural West will support diploma costs.
