Reporting to the Strategic Adviser, the Executive Assistant position is part of the Office of the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for providing confidential executive administration support to the CEO and the Executive, including managing complex correspondence and calendar requirements, along with secretariat functions to support Respect Victoria’s Board and Committees. This role is pivotal to the continued development and delivery of high-quality governance services, and effective administrative systems and processes, that support Respect Victoria’s Executive and Board.

Utilising your ability to operate with a high level of discretion, autonomy, and accountability in a sensitive and complex environment, you will manage stakeholders through effective negotiation, collaboration and influence. The Executive Assistant is the primary point of contact for the Board of Directors and external stakeholders, and leads the coordination of papers to the Board, Committees, and other corporate governance fora.

Additionally, you will support the Strategic Adviser to identify and implement processes and procedures that contribute to effective and efficient operations across the organisation.

Respect Victoria

Respect Victoria was established as a Statutory Authority under the Prevention of Family Violence Act 2018 (the Act) on 4 October 2018. We have a broad focus on the primary prevention of all forms of violence against women and family violence in Victoria, and work collaboratively with stakeholders to provide statewide leadership to create social, institutional, organisational and community change.

Desirable qualifications

  • A qualification in fields related to public administration, business management, executive support or executive administration

Essential skills and experience

  • Demonstrated experience as an executive assistant
  • High level organisational skills and demonstrated ability to balance competing priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Strong relationship development and interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate and influence
  • Demonstrated ability to work highly autonomously with limited supervision and ability to be proactive and show high levels of initiative
  • Exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Significant technical proficiency with the Microsoft suite and ability to identify and use technological solutions to deliver strong administrative support

Desirable experience and skills

  • Familiarity with Victorian government systems and processes
